October 2010
Dear Friends & Readers:
I’ve been waiting for the leaves to change and the weather to cool down a bit. Of course, the days are still hot as heck and there’s no sign of Autumn. It seems like the only thing that has been constant is how quickly the year has passed. I don’t want to even think about it….
This month really kicked off to an awesome start. I attended a wedding this first weekend in October and it reminded me of how much I love being a part of these events. The bride was beautiful, the setting was breathtaking, and the reception was so much fun. All the kids hit the dance floor with an energy I envied. I still dream about the bacon wrapped scallop appetizers and the succulent peppered beef tenderloin dinner with garlic and herb mashed potatoes…let’s not forget the abundance of wine and mixed drinks! My toes, feet, and back are still throbbing from all the dancing and running around but I can’t imagine having a nicer experience. I really should write a wedding scene in one of my books.
I know this month is a busy one for everyone including Halloween coming just around the corner. Another festive time of year before the series of holidays roll in…Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years–are you ready? Truthfully, I don’t want to think about how quickly 2011 will arrive so I’ll focus on the things I still need to do before the end of the year. Write. Write. Write. Hopefully you’ll have an exciting and productive month while I stay hidden in the cave.
One important thing: Don’t forget that this is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Please, ladies, go out and get your mammograms done! It won’t take long and you’ll be glad you did it.
Enjoy a safe and fun October!
